Book Description
Betty was a little girl in a small Appalachian mountain town during the Depression and World War II. She had no relatives in the area except her mother and dad, yet she captivated the entire community with her comic and precocious antics. Many of her antics seemed unbelievable, but were all true. There were times when she was conniving and got into mischief, but because she loved the people, they returned her love and considered her presence the key to happiness despite the hardest of times.
In this book, the author invites readers to travel back in time and relive her experiences—experience her cheer, enjoy her antics, fall in love with her sweetness, and cherish the people she loved.
Further, readers will be inspired with short poems throughout the book—poems composed by the author herself before she was twelve years old, written on table napkins while she was in her mother’s restaurant.
